History: Born a
Graverobber to two humans, David and Helena Stuckrath. Her birth name was Sara
Stuckrath. It was quite a shock to her parents when she was born a Graverobber.
What gave it away is the dark bat shaped
birthmark on her left wrist. Being highly Catholic, they were distraught. They
decided to try and ignore the fact that she was not actually human. They raised
her as if nothing was different. She went to normal school and seemed to be
just fine. When she was around seven, her parents noticed a huge decline in her
health. She would be constantly coughing, and sometimes would even cough up
blood. Worried, her parents knew nothing about Graverobbers other than when a
Graverobber dies, another is born in it's place to a random couple. They
thought it was a random cold. One evening during dinner, the coughing got even worse. It was continuous and hard,
always bringing up blood. Panicked they had no choice than to take her to
the hospital. While rushing her there
she fell unconscious. Once in the hospital a doctor quickly looked her over and
instantly knew what was wrong the minute he saw the birth mark. Stepping out
into the waiting room, he informed her parents that she was a Graverobber. As
per the policy of the hospital, he had to call the authorities. If she wasn't
taken to the Monastery, she would die. Outraged, her parents threw a fit, and forced they're way into her room.
They proclaimed that they would rather have her die than go to the Devil's
Monastery. Within minutes, disciples of the Goddess of Death arrived at the
hospital in full decorum, dark black full length robes. The people in the
hospital cowered in fear, because usually when the disciples appeared, death
soon followed. They stormed into Sara's room removing her from her bed. Her
parents ignored the fact that they were disciples of death and tried to fight
them off. The disciples ignored their futile attempts, they simply held them
back and took their daughter from them. Taking her up to the helipad on top of
the hospital. Loading her into the helicopter they flew to the airport where
their private jet awaited them. They hoped they could get Sara to the Monastery
in time, seven years was an awfully long time to be away from the Monastery for
someone so young and not matured. It was an 18 hour flight from St. Louis to
the Himalayas. She made it barely alive
to the Monastery. After a week long stay in the medical wing, she awoke.
Frantic, because she did now know where she was, she panicked and destroyed the
room she was in. It took her over a week to fully calm down and come to terms
that she would probably not see her parents again and that she was not actually
human. It was a lot to take in for a 7
year old. It took her another month before she could fully be acclimated into
life at the Monastery. She did very well and was a very powerful Graverobber.
At the extremely young age of 14 she was taken to the main hall of the
Monastery, the Hall of the Goddess. The Goddess appeared before her and
accepted her as her child. She was "reborn" and given the name Serith
Vandegrift. The birthmark on her wrist faded some and the outline of a bat
appeared on her chest between her shoulders. She was then accepted as an
apprentice. She worked hard through her apprentice ship and at the ripe age of
19 she was taken back to the Hall of the Goddess. Her outline was filled in and
she had the tattoo of a bat on her chest. Scrollwork came from either side of
the bat covering her entire chest from shoulder to shoulder. This was normal,
but she was gifted. Her tattoos kept growing, they flowed over her shoulders
down her back and chest, all over her stomach and back and down her arms and
legs. The delicate scroll work of the tattoos covered her entire body. No one
knew why but the goddess, and she wasn't talking. Now a full a Graverobber, she
was able to accept missions and explore outside the Monastery. One day she was
just wandering around the mountains when she came upon another building. The
Vampire Academy. It was here where she met Avsky Älska. Avsky attacked Serith,
outside the school. She had never known anyone outside of the academy. They
rapidly became friends. When Serith got back to the Monastery she was given her
first mission, her first graveyard to rob. It went by without a hitch. This
went on for many years, she would complete missions then go back to the Monastery and visit Avsky.
When Serith turned 50, she was given a mission to go back to the United States,
back to St. Louis where she was born. St. Louis had rapidly become a hub for
the supernatural, the graveyards were teeming with souls that needed to be
taken care of. She was to go take care of a single graveyard then go back to
give information. She completed her mission in record time without a hitch, but
when she got back to the airport, her plane never arrived. She never heard any
news of what happened or anything from the Monastery at all. The first time she
heard anything was on her 60th birthday, she ran into Avsky at a local vampire
bar in St. Louis. They were so excited to see each other. Avsky informed her
that not long after Serith left, the Monastery closed itself off to the outside
world. They sealed off the bridge that lead to the gates. She was now alone in
the world with no one but Avsky. She was fine with that though, she had learned
to get along really well on her own in those ten years. She worked as a
freelancing Graverobber to a Voudun priestess who guided these souls to the
other side. Her and Avsky live together in a house in the outskirts of St.
Louis.
Personality: She is
rather cold and uncaring. She doesn't care about much, she just does her job
like she was brought up to do. The only person she really cares about is Avsky.
She's her best friend. She is a very careful person, yet at the same time reckless.
She is deadly loyal to the few that she lets into her life, or at this point,
just one. She loves the night and is a night person. She is quiet until you get
her enraged. She is a volatile person when enraged. At times her curiosity is
overwhelming. She will just sit there and do nothing until something piques her
curiosity then you can not get her off.
Weapons: Various
knives of various sizes and a Browning 9mm
Weaknesses: Light,
bow and arrow
Abilities: An
ability to sense the dead. She can feel when a corpse is near by. She can also
sense souls. Such as when soul does not
detach itself from the body in a grave. She is so sensitive she can even sense
when a live person is nearing death. In times of extreme need, she can raise
the dead as zombies to help protect her, or the soul she is trying to rob from
it's grave.
